On the occasion of your State Convention in Madison this weekend at a location noticeably omitted from initial news reports, allow me to offer these few words of congratulation and caution.
As the Republican candidate facing your incumbent Democrat Lisa Subeck of Assembly District 79 in the November 3 General Election it is my duty to inform you of a problem created by your candidate.
After ten years in Assembly office and holding the prestigious position of Minority Caucus Chair as well as several committee assignments, Lisa Subeck might have thought better of her decision the evening of May 13 during Special Session to vote NO on Assembly Bill 1, but Subeck did vote NO and therein lies the problem.
It is your problem, created for you and the Democratic Party by Lisa Subeck.
Introduced by the Joint Committee on Finance by request of Governor Tony Evers, Assembly Bill 1, a thoroughly bi-partisan bill approved by 80% of Wisconites and 82% of Democrats polled by Marquette Law School, contained as you know the following:
- A record investment of over $300,000,000 in special education
- Tax rebate checks of $300 to Wisconsin workers
- Significant property tax relief
- Elimination of state income tax on tips and overtime pay
- Creation of a State Disaster Recovery Grant Program for individuals and businesses affected by natural disasters
Lisa Subeck voted NO.
I intend to offer that fact continuously, emphatically and relentlessly throughout my campaign as the Republican candidate for Assembly District 79. You might as well know.
