I’ll make you a promise.
You elect me to serve as State Representative from Assembly District 79 and I won’t stop going door to door.
This is what it takes to get on the ballot. Candidates go door to door to collect signatures and candidates go away. That’s the way it works.
If you elect me I’ll come back.
Same as now.
Except I won’t say, “Hello, my name is John Fons. I’m running for State Assembly and I’m gathering nomination signatures so my name will appear on the ballot in November. I’m running on the Republican ticket,”
I’ll say,
“Hello, my name is John Fons. I’m your Republican State Representative from District 79 and I thought I’d stop by and ask you how its going, what your concerns are today and if there’s any message you’d like me to carry back to the State Capitol.”
Something like that.
Elect me and I’ll do it.
You can come to me if you want, but I’ll come to you.
I promise.
