“Customer Service Is Our Number One Goal”.
I read it on the side of a service truck.
I walked by the truck as I campaigned door to door and the truck sat parked at a curb.
What better political slogan?
It might have said, “Customer Satisfaction Guaranteed’, but that wouldn’t be politics.
Not really.
Politics don’t work that way.
It doesn’t matter whether you invite an Elephant or a Donkey into your tent, they’re both clumsy. They’re both liable to make a mess. They’re both large animals and they both tend to get bigger and bigger the more you feed them, until they push you out of the tent altogether.
Politics my way is the Art of Service.
Or should be.
When Satisfaction cuts in line, when people lose the ability to gain Satisfaction by Serving, then getting what they want becomes more important than getting what others need. What that does is demolish the ability and willingness to compromise into the best possible outcome.
The outcome motivated by Service and tempered by Cooperation should be enough for anyone.
Customer Service Is Our Number One Goal.
After all, whether they vote for you or not, the Customer is paying the bills.
