It will help me say what I want to say here.

The message is simple. As a Republican candidate for the Wisconsin Assembly, I have people step away from me because I’m not a Democrat in District 79. I also have people castigate Democrats because they’re not Republicans.
I can’t campaign either way.
What I tell people now is what I intend to do if they’ll sign my nomination papers to get me on the ballot or vote for me November 3.
I will do my best to meet the needs of Wisconsin in the middle, whether I have to pull Democrats toward me or drag Republicans with me, because if neither side will meet with the best interests of the people, by the people and for the people of Wisconsin at heart, we the people aren’t going anywhere.
It makes no difference if Abraham Lincoln the first Republican President spoke those words in some form first. He spoke them at a battlefield after an horrific carnage that never would have taken place, never should have taken place if cooler heads had prevailed and reason had taken precedent over passion and prejudice.
“That’s just not the way the world works,” one man said to me sadly as he signed my nomination paper, but he signed.
That’s the signature I want and a lot more like that, the names of people who shake their head in sorrow, but go Forward in the hope we can do better if we do it together.
